Why is Occupation a Factor?

Awareness of who uses your employment history or current occupation to evaluate your credit or insurance worthiness will help with understanding the reasons for an evaluation based on occupation. Credit card companies, mortgage and auto-loan lenders, and even debt collectors take your occupation into account when assessing your credit worthiness.

Your occupation is one component of a scoring rubric purposed to give an outlook on your steadiness as consumer. In the credit industry the perusal of your employment history and occupational status is more straight forward, as it determines availability of funds.

Offensive or not, your occupation and employment history are also used, even within the credit and loan industry, to determine your level of personal responsibility or propensity to take risk. The basis of evaluation on responsibility figures in with the idea of financial risk equating to driving risk.

Minimized Risk Equals Maximized Profit

Insurance companies are in business to make money. Any successful business will minimize expenditure while increasing profit. This is simple math. The sure-fire way for any insurance company to profit is to minimize risk as much as possible.

If your occupation as a garbage collector doesn’t reflect the potential you had as the son of a wealthy business tycoon then you may be considered careless and therefore a risk. But it’s not all about the money or personal patterns of irresponsibility.

There are differing opinions on that question. While some experts support using occupation as an evaluating factor on the premise that it is brutal but fair, other experts are expressing that other factors, such as uncontrollable circumstances, should be given more credence in the rate evaluation process.

This bike means a lot to me, I want it run really smooth and don’t want to put junky old parts in it that aren’t going to run smoothly. I was told that I could get parts from places like eBay or old bike yards but I’m worried about getting parts that have no warranty or worse off…what if they’re stolen??? You just never know I guess when you’re buying from places like eBay. I guess the bike just means so much to me that I want to make sure that I get good quality stuff. So if anyone knows of some place where I can get Honda parts specifically that would be awesome. In the past I used to always fix up bikes with my dad and we used to get parts from an old salvage yard, but that place has since closed down. Anyone who owns a bike knows where I’m coming from here, this stuff can add up really fast. I don’t mind taking my time with this though; I would really appreciate some feedback and some advice on where I can get some good parts for this old bike. Thanks

Lexus handed its already fast IS F over to the go-fast team at Toyota Racing Development and produced the IS F Circuit Club Sport where the sport sedan received a variety of mechanical and aero adjustments and improvements. Lexus first unveiled the concept at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon, with some further details following on this year.

The exterior of the vehicle has been fitted with a new carbon fibre front spoiler, rear diffuser and hood, also made from the light-weight material. Along with its large rear wing, the luxury bruiser also comes equipped with lightweight forged aluminum wheels while a choice of magnesium rollers are also available. To improve handling, Toyota offers various solutions for the suspension including stabilizers and different shocks, better brake pads and a titanium muffler.



The package also offers a performance damper kit offering buyers two separate settings that independently adjust compression.

The date at which this new Lexus sport will be available and the price tag to accompany it have not yet been revealed.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the German auto manufacturer has recently announced the closure of Maybach.

Daimler’s upmarket division that was resurrected in 2002 to compete against BMW’s Rolls-Royce and VW’s Bentley subsidiaries, failed to meet sales expectations with its 57 and 62 core models. The decision was also facilitated by the breaking down of the deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development in future Maybachs. The Maybach brand never took off in the way Mercedes hoped and sales never rose anywhere near four figures.



Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche made the announcement on Saturday during an interview with a German newspaper in which he said that he had lost patience with Maybach and with no more models being developed, stocks are expected to deplete by late 2012.

Merc is expected to develop a new range of top-end next generation S-Class models including a new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker.

Chrysler has decided to recall a total number of 340 vehicles consisting of Dodge Journeys and Fiat 500s built between the 24 and 26 October of this year. The recall is as a result of contaminated brake fluid that was put in during the vehicles’ assembly. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these vehicles “may experience a degradation of the sealing components within the brake system.” The consequences of this incident could lead to the loss of breaking ability and result in a crash.

To resolve the problem, Chrysler will be replacing, free of charge of course, any vehicle components that would have come in contact with the contaminated hydraulic fluid. The official safety recall is expected to begin in December.

Ahead of its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota has unveiled its new Fun-Vii concept car. The skin of the bullet shaped car for the “not too distant future” serves as a massive display that can change its colour and display graphics, images, and custom messages for other drivers and bystanders. The skin can be changed using a specialised app and have its interior adjusted as well – the three-seat cabin has a continuous display which spans from the dashboard to the floor. Overall the vehicle measures 4,020mm long, 1,745mm wide and 1,415mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.



Intervehicle connectivity can detect potentially hazardous situations like making the driver aware of a car in its blind spot or one that is about to break suddenly. The system can also link with surrounding vehicles to locate friends.

As if this isn’t enough, Toyota also envisions that the car will be connected to the internet which has the advantage of bringing information to the driver and providing entertainment content to the driver and the passengers on board.

Since the first images of the concept were revealed back in October, Mazda has officially unveiled its new Takeri concept at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show in the Big Sight expo hall.

Built to preview the next generation Mazda6, The Takeri is the “most-evolved Form of Mazda’s New ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ Design Theme and Breakthrough Skyactiv Technology”. The Takeri is a four-door coupe with a strong and prominent hexagonal-shaped grille, 20 inch alloy wheels and measures 4, 850mm in length, 1, 870mm in width and has a height of 1, 430mm.

The clean interior showcases elegant leather seats, metallic trim and a fully equipped infotainment centre.



Power comes from a 2.2-litre Skyactive diesel engine that is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. The start/stop technology with i-ELOOP regenerative braking system, allows the vehicle to travel about 1, 500km before having to refill the tank, improving performance and fuel economy.

Mitsubishi has showcased its PX-MiEV II concept for 2013 at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. The vehicle is a plug-in hybrid version of the Mitsubishi Outlander and will be available to own sometime in 2012.



Power comes from an internal combustion engine and two electric motors. Using two 60kW electric motors individually powering the front and rear wheels, the hybrid can drive exclusively in electric mode for up to 50km and a further 800km when combined with its petrol engine.

The vehicles also offers three driving modes that combines electric and pedal power. In the case of an emergency the PX-MiEV can act as an outdoor power supply through a socket that supplies the stored power in the battery.

Honda showcased its new RC-E Electric superbike at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. While details are limited about the new concept, the machine is designed as a dual-purpose track heathen and commuter.

Tiny LED headlights are tucked into the front fairing and rear of the bike with turning indicators. While the bike is purely a concept at this stage, there is a small change that the RC-E may hint at what Honda has planned for the future of the company’s motorcycle design.

Maserati has unveiled the GranTurismo S Limited Edition at the Bologna Motor Show. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification, only 12 limited editions will be developed exclusively for the Italian market.

The supercar shows-off  a matte Sebring Blue exterior with carbon fibre accents, polished aluminum brake calipers and 20-inch alloy wheels. To compliment the the blue exterior, the side skirts and headlights are painted matte-black. Inside, the luxurious interior boasts leather/Alcantara sport seats, carbon fibre trim and an individually-numbered Centocinquantenario (“150th Anniversary”) badge on the central console.

Power is generated from a 4.7-litre V8 engine with 450 PS (331 kW / 444 hp) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds reaching a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph).
