Japanese automaker Subaru introduced a teasing sketch of its XV model just ahead of the unveiling of its Impreza-based XV crossover/SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The design makes us feel that the car would be a new rival for the Nissan Qasqai. Subaru has assured that its final production will be based on its concept model which was unveiled at Shanghai Auto Show earlier.
The XV concept is the blending of an SUV in a more fashionable form. The key design concept is ‘Protren’, again the combination of ‘professional tool’ and ‘trendy design’. The concept featured aspects like hexagon grille, winged motif and sharp-solid designed hawk-eye headlights.
The interior features include ‘Silvery White Leather’ which is used as a base material for seats and a large multifunction touch panel display in the center with displays for navigation, car audio and vehicle information.
The concept car had a driving assist ‘Eyesight’ system. It is expected that the production model will constitute the concept features without many changes.
The concept car is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder horizontally-opposed DOHC engine with an output of 150 hp at 6000 rpm and 146 lb-ft at 4,200 rpm coupled with Lineartronic (CVT) transmission.
