As rumored earlier, Bentley indeed has an SUV in the works. Wolfgang Durheimer, the new CEO of Bentley, has confirmed the plans. The upcoming 4×4 Bentley has been codenamed BY736, and it would – most likely – take 3 years to launch.



The luxurious – yet sporty – four or five-seater 4×4 Bentley would feature all available modern equipment, from air suspension to a complete set of driver assistance system. The aluminium frame construction and five-door shooting brake would add to the charm.

It is rumored that the car will sport MLB Evo matrix architecture. The vehicle will drive in with suspension geometry complete with steering assembly, brake system, better crash performance systems (with airbags and seat belts), an electronic platform and drivetrains.

The SUV is expected to come with a twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8, a twin-turbo W12 or possibly a V12 TDI engine. Rumors also hint at an engine with a plug-in hybrid assembly coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
