Suzuki previewed its upcoming 2012 Swift Sport ahead of its debut at  the coming Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The model seems very similar to the Suzuki S concept the company revealed in Geneva.



The car has a more aggressive, dignified exterior look and a big front grille that evokes a sporty feel. The three-door hatchback consists of smaller elements of Audi R8 in the lower nose, particularly in the spotlight cluster design and venting.

The model is powered by a 1.6 liter M16A engine with an output of  136 PS (100kW/134 bhp) and a torque of 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) assuring higher power and lower fuel consumption. The engine brings in a six-speed manual transmission.

The new Swift Sport offers better stability, handling and rear suspension along with high-level safety. Safety is much improved by seven airbags (including curtain airbag and driver’s knee airbag) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).

The Sport version is 40mm longer than the standard version.
